In our culture, traditionally, pregnancy was kept hidden. Women stepped out rarely or by covering their bump. The trend is changing – Now women and young couples are more open to celebrate life and their happy memories.
The trend of Maternity Photoshoots started in the West and is now being widely adopted in India. I am a premium maternity photographer based out of Gurgaon (Delhi NCR) and I am blessed to meet so many young couples on a daily basis who want to get the best of the maternity shoot done for themselves. They want the best maternity dresses, themes, props and want to create a unique photoshoot for themselves to capture these beautiful memories. Similar to wedding photoshoots, they are willing to spend money and are looking for a truly world-class photoshoot. For me, these are aspirational couples, who want the best for themselves and their upcoming child. They spend on experiences and want to preserve the emotions that they go through during the pregnancy.
As a maternity photographer, I feel blessed to see maternity photoshoot as a major upcoming trend and feel delighted to meet the energetic and positive expecting couples. I meet couples from Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad etc. Often couples are even ready to travel to my studio from nearby places like Chandigarh, Meerut, Jaipur. The culture is catching up fast and I am very sure that going forward, it will become like a ritual for every couple to have a great maternity photoshoot done and celebrate their upcoming parenthood.
