A Journey Through Love: Capturing Nesha and Rohit’s twin shoot
Meet My Clients Nesha and Rohit:
Nesha and Rohit are both commercial pilots working with esteemed airline companies in India. From the moment I first met them, we instantly connected. The beautiful bond they share as a couple was heartwarming, and I knew this would reflect perfectly in their maternity and newborn sessions. They are a fun, no-fuss couple and wanted their images to capture their natural, unfiltered connection.
Guess what was the cherry on the cake? they were expecting twins. We had a wonderful maternity shoot, which I’ll share at the end of this blog. But for now, let me take you through their unforgettable newborn shoot experience.
They arrived at 11:00 AM with their twin baby boys and Nesha’s mom (the kids’ nani). I was thrilled to meet the boys – 19 days old and cuteness personified! Their names are Ridhaan and Ruhaan. While my first reaction was sheer excitement seeing the twins, my photographer brain kicked in, thinking, Which baby should I wrap first? What sequence of shots should we do? What props and colors would work best?
Typically, I discuss all these details with the parents in advance, and I did the same with Nesha. But to my surprise, she said, “I trust you completely. Do whatever you think is best.” While it’s flattering, trust me, the pressure doubles in such cases!
Let the fun begin - The shoot starts.
I started with Ridhaan, gently undressing him as he wriggled around a bit. I sensed he might be a little colicky, so I did my magic foot massage (which babies absolutely love—if you’d like to learn it, feel free to ask me!).
Soon, we heard the unmistakable sound… poop! This was a good sign, as it meant he’d be more relaxed after emptying his stomach. After helping him along with some leg movements, I handed him over to mom for a diaper change
Then comes Ruhan, we were joking that he might poop too coming in my arms, and Nani said that he did his routine at home and won’t do it again. The moment i undressed him – he was calm and settled but the poop was already there.. We cleaned him.
Okay enough of poop time let us fast forward this when we started the shoot
The first time I take a baby from the parent’s arms is always a special moment for me. As a parent, entrusting your most precious possession to someone new can be hard, even for a minute. Yet here, I take their child for nearly 1-2 hours, while the parents watch in awe.
There are two things I always do during my newborn shoots. First, I treat the baby as if they were my own. The moment that baby is in my arms, they are as special to me as my own child, and I mean it. Second, I focus on creating an unforgettable experience for the parents. Watching their newborn being swaddled and posed is a moment they’ll cherish forever.
To enhance that experience, we always have coffee, tea, cold beverages, cookies, chips, candies, nuts, and even a foot massager available for the parents so they can relax while I work my magic.
We went through several different poses and setups for Ridhaan and Ruhaan. For every newborn shoot, I try to create something new—something I haven’t done before.
